Personal Training & Fitness
My mantra has become “the mind is secondary,” which implies that something (other than the mind) is primary. My answer to that is “heart”; because if you can’t, or won’t do something with love, why bother?
That is the inspiration I bring to personal training, whether it is a person who is trying to “get back into” – or has never been in – shape or a competitive athlete. My goal is to walk with clients on an exploratory process that utilizes the body and physical movements to explore overlapping concepts, drives, and principles in our thoughts and emotions. Some may call this “sport psychology”, I call it being human.
Furthermore, I use a creative blend of skills I’ve accumulated from studying with groups like [NonPhophet’s Space Program] and [Shift Adapt] to cultivate autonomous athletes who are fit (as in improved fit-ness) to see over their own programming and are insightfully aware of the stimulation, sensations, intentions, and (recovery) needs associated with improving their physical (and other) fitness.
This is as true for the Division 1 competitor as it is for the first responder as it is for the average person looking to improve their physical prowess, mental acuity, and quality of life.
I currently offer private individual fitness and nutrition training. For group or team related events, please see the [Seminars and Special Events] page.
